Ed Wegner, 82, Long Ill, Dies
Edward Wegner, 82, Route 1, Mishicot, died Monday evening at his home after an
illness of six months. He was born April 9, 1881 in the Town of Gibson, son of
the late John and Catherine Hoppenwegner. He married Mae Wilson on December 26,
1905 and the couple settled in Sheboygan for three years. They then moved to
the Town of Gibson where Mr. Wegner was employed as a mason for many years and
by the Manitowoc County Highway Department until injuries forced his retirement
20 years ago. He is survived by his wife; a son, Eldred, Route 1, Maribel; two
brothers, Walter, Manitowoc; Clarence, LaPort, Ind.; three grandchildren and
nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services are being held this Thursday, 2:00 pm at St. Peter Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Mishicot, with burial in the Mishicot Public Cemetery.
