Cheryl C. McCarthy, age 69,
of Canal Winchester,
will be held on Wednesday,
August 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at
the Thornville chapel of
Hoskinson Funeral Home,
with Celebrant Mark Dettmer officiating.
Burial will follow at
Lutheran Reformed Cemetery.
Cheryl was born in Columbus, Ohio
on May 7, 1947 to the late
Paul Kitzmiller and
Billie (McCoy) Riggs.
She passed away at her residence
on Saturday, August 6, 2016
while surrounded
by her loving family.
Cheryl was a medical assistant prior
to her retirement. She loved spending
time with her family, grandchildren
and her nine dachshunds.
She enjoyed knitting, watching Sci-Fi movies,
camping and gardening.
Cheryl was a devoted homemaker,
wife, mother, grandmother,
great grandmother, sister and will
be missed by everyone that knew her.
Survivors include her loving husband
of nearly 30 years,
Richard A. McCarthy,
whom she married August 26, 1986;
daughters,
Christina L. (Larry) Gotschall and
Amy Lee Carter;
step-son,
Richard "Greg" (Heather) McCarthy;
grandchildren,
Tosha,
Lucas and
Madalynn Gotschall,
Devin Chaffin, and
Colin Trubee
step grandchildren,
Grant, Evan and Blake McCarthy;
great grandchildren,
Cameron Minnier and Ella Chaffin;
brothers,
Paul Kitzmiller and
Darrell (Sue) Riggs;
sisters,
Paula Doyer and
Candy (Roy) Bradley;
In addition to her parents,
she is preceded in death
by her son,
Joey Carter in 2014.
