Thelma M.Nolting Pullen, 83, of Markle, Ind., died December 12 at 9:15 a.m. at Markle Health Care Center.
She was born April 25, 1920, in Grayson, KY., to Walter and Hattie Smith Carroll. On January 20, 1945, she married Ernest F. Nolting in Marietta, GA.; he died October 2, 1973. On April 14, 1981, she married Herbert Pullen in Arcadia, FL., he died July 11, 1987.
Mrs. Nolting Pullen was a former resident of Winamac, living in the area from 1958 to 1998. She was an Avon salesperson for many years and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Winamac. She had also lived in Walton and enjoyed gardening and quilting.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis M. (Ronald) Kochel of Walton and Doris K. (Ton) Griffith of Goshen; two sons, Jerry R. (Joyce) Nolting of Newberry, SC., and Fred J. (Jill) Nolting of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren, two sisters, Laura Mae Carroll of Connersville and Betty (Doug) Pritchard of Franklin, OH.; one brother, Harold (Nancy) Carroll of Grayson, KY.; one step son, Ernest F. (Norma) Nolting Jr. of Linton; and one step daughter, Patricia (John) Stewart of Switz City. Along with her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ruben Carroll and Walter Carroll Jr.
Services were held December 15 at Frain Mortuary. Burial followed in the McKinley Memorial Gardens.
