Samuel Cleo Collins, 88, died Sunday, August 7, 2016, at home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2016, at Ellisboro Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Tillman officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Primitive Baptist church Cemetery with military rites by Rockingham County Honor Guard and the N.C. National Guard.
A native of Rockingham County, Cleo was born November 10, 1927, to the late Ernest and Nealie Hennis Collins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Coast Guard and a member of Ellisboro Baptist Church. Cleo was retired from Sears and a past employee of Frank Oil Company and Vaughan Motors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Martin and a nephew, Eddie Collins.
Survivors include a brother, Willard Collins; sister, JoAnn Bryant and Lois Smith, all of Madison.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday, 10 until 11 a.m., at the church.
