Crash Fatal: Nevada, Mo. (AP)----A Nevada teen-ager was killed Thursday when a truck he was driving was struck by a train in western Missouri, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.
The victim was identified as Kelly Stone, 18. Investigators said the garbage truck he was driving was struck by a Union Pacific freight train at a Vernon County gravel crossing, about one mile north of Nevada.
The Highway Patrol reported the collision occured shortly after 1 p.m. The cab of the truck was carried several hundred feet down the track.
