Doris Mae Bowlin Deas, 92, a resident of Gulfport, MS for 67 years passed away August 8, 2016 in Mobile, AL.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive cemetery. Rev. Ted Bowlin and Rev. Richard Cothern will officiate.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jones Family Funeral Home in McComb will handle arrangements.

Mrs. Deas was born May 2, 1924 in Meadville, MS to William Lee Bowlin, Jr. and Rettie Mae Jernigan Bowlin.

She graduated from business college in Jackson, MS and Gulfport, MS. She worked for many years with the state of Mississippi in Vocational Rehabilitation, she also worked for MS Senator John Stennis and was a licensed Real Estate Agent. She was a homemaker and loved gardening. The family would live off her wonderful fruits and vegetables. She was a member of Bayou View Baptist Church in Gulfport.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Alton C. Thornton, WWII Vet, her spouse, Henry Nelson Deas; five sisters, Georgie Nell Thornton, Hazel Donaldson, Myrtle Bowlin, Bobbie Bowlin and Margurite Pringle, a brother; Floyd Shelton Bowlin.

She is survived by three sons; Kenneth Nelson Deas, CPT, USAR Retired (LeNay) of Beaumont, TX, Dale Shelton Deas of Mobile, AL and Michael Wayne Deas, LTC, USAF Retired (Cheryl) of Dallas, Georgia, a daughter; Lisa Deas Stonebraker of Gulfport, MS, a sister; Hilda Ham of Smithdale, MS, three brothers; John Bowlin (Nell) of Smithdale, James Pearlie "JP" Bowlin (Morese) of Smithdale and Claude Everett Bowlin of West Lincoln; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
