Carolyn June Baldwin, age 70, of Marietta passed away August 6, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Jerald W. Baldwin, LTC, USA (Ret); daughter Elizabeth A. Baldwin of Norcross, GA; son John E. H. Baldwin and daughter-in-law Stacy L. Baldwin, both of Dacula, GA; grandson Jonah E. Baldwin and granddaughter Annabelle L. Baldwin, also of Dacula, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents Hollis Qualls and Rachel Bowling Qualls, along with Mr. Qualls’ nine siblings, all of Murfreesboro, TN.

Carolyn was born in 1946 in Murfreesboro, TN. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro with a Bachelor of Science degree. Carolyn and her children traveled worldwide with her husband during a nearly 30-year US Army career. She frequently worked at their different duty stations as an administrative and secretarial assistant. She also founded and operated a medical transcription service in O’Fallon, IL. Upon their retirement, Jerry and “Miss Carolyn,” as she was affectionately known to so many, successfully owned and operated three child development facilities.

Carolyn carried many titles of affection, but her favorites were “Sweetheart” to her husband Jerry during their 52 years together as a couple; “Mama” to her children, Beth and John; and of course, “Nana” to her grandchildren Jonah and Annabelle. Her many talents included jewelry making, painting and crocheting.

Her funeral service was held at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road SW, Marietta, GA, 30064. A graveside service was held at the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA 30114.
