She was the second born of (12) children. Ruthie was educated in the Bibb County School system. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Brierfield, Alabama. Ruthie had a passion for cooking, which she learned from her mother. Her peach cobbler, Macaroni & cheese and sweet potato pies were adorned by her family.
In 1951, Ruthie Mae relocated to Detroit, Michigan where she served diligently at Conventional Baptist Church on the Deaconess Board under the late Pastor Nathaniel Albritton. She later became a member of Revelation Full Gospel Church, under the late Pastor G.L. Jones as a mother on the Mother Board. After that church dispersed. Ruthie Mae currently was a member of New Revelations (Non-Denominational) Church under Pastor Jamel Murson. She served faithfully until her health would not present.
