Ola Mae Johnson was born July 27, 1940 in Clarksville, Texas to William Sr., and Onie Mae Dillard. She was raised in Clarksville, TX and later moved with her family to Stamford, TX. She married Alfonzo Johnson, Sr. in 1956. To this union there were ten children born, Billie Irene, Cecil, Alfonzo, Jr., Ella, Patricia, Belinda, Connie, Cynthia, Alton, & Steven. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She worked as a housekeeper and as a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfonzo Johnson, Sr., her parents, William, Sr. and Onie Mae Dillard, 7 brothers, James Dillard, Jimmy Dillard, William Dillard, Jr., Leo Dillard, Sr., Otis Garland, J.S. Dillard, & Jesse Dillard (her twin brother), 3 sisters, Marie Collins, Ruby Goodwin, & Clara Washington, three children, Cecil Johnson, Ella Yeldell, & Alfonzo Johnson, Jr., one grandson, Barry Johnson, one great-granddaughter, Kashaymian (Krissy) Yeldell, and one son in law, Jackie Collier.
She is survived by her children, Billie Irene Choice and husband Brad, Patricia Collier, Belinda Johnson and husband Chris Kilgore, Connie Johnson and husband John, Cynthia Williams and husband Kenneth, Alton Johnson and wife Bobbie Ann, & Steven Johnson, 2 brothers, Henry Dillard, Sr. and wife Floretta, & Ambrose Dillard, and wife Lee, 2 step-children, Jackie Thompson & Marion Gardner, 31 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, two brother-in-laws, Johnny Goodwin & Cecil Johnson, two sister-in-laws, Thelma Johnson & Lucinda Dean, a special son, Garny Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services for Ola Mae will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Stamford with the Rev. Jessie Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 until 7 p.m.
