Jeffrey Eugene Snider, 41, Lena, passed away May 5, 2008, following a dirt bike accident.
He was born Feb. 15, 1967, in Clay County, to Arthur and Sandra (Schultz) Snider.
Jeff was a 1985 graduate of Northview High School. Shortly after high school he was honored with an art scholarship. He gave up his art scholarship to join the United States Army. Following active duty, he joined the Army Reserves and began working at Great Dane.
He then married Melisa Soots June 26, 1993. He also owned and operated J and M Carpentry, worked for Happico, Greencastle, and the Center point Feline Rescue Center. In his free time Jeff enjoyed collecting antiques, was an accomplished mechanic, made picture frames and was a talented artist having made the Northview High School Seal which is displayed in the auditorium of the school.
Jeff is a member of the Mansfield Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother Sandra Snider.
Survivors include his father and step-mother Arthur E. and Sharon Snider, wife Melisa J. Soots Snider, four children Tiffany A. Snider, Jay Eugene Snider, Matthew C. Snider and Nickolas S. Snider, siblings Robin Williams, Penny Miller, Harold and Valerie Siddons, Cindy and Scott Burton, step-siblings Debbie Skelton, Randy and Loretta Fagg, Sandy and David Cain and John Fagg, Katherine Simmerman, Nancy and Richard Rutledge, Robert Schultz, Patricia A. Mathas, Charles E. Schultz and Judith Winklepleck as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Private funeral services for Jeff will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Friday, May 9, 2008, with brother Joshua Barnett of Mansfield Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Public visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8
