Journalist and Hero of the French Resistance in World War II. He ran an intelligence hub of Parisian resistance before serving as a liaison officer in London. He would periodically return to France to conduct missions for the resistance. After one such mission, as he attempted to return to England, he was captured on the coast of Brittany by the Nazis. He committed suicide by jumping out of a window to prevent himself from revealing the lengths of French Resistance networks under torture. His ashes were originally buried in Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in Paris. His ashes were placed in the Pantheon in Paris in May of 2015.
