He is also preceded in death by his three brothers-in-law, Watson, Harlin, and K.C. and a sister-in-law Avel. He graduated from Bowling Green High School before serving in the U.S. Navy and receiving an honorable discharge. He worked for many years at Holley Carburetor and retired from Art's Used Parts in Smiths Grove, KY. He loved to fish and vacation in Daytona Beach, FL, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a good heart and received the most pleasure in life from being there for his family. He trusted in the Lord to take him to a better place.
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Ellen Long, a daughter, Lisa Embry (wife of Steve) of Bowling Green, two stepsons, Smokey Stanley (husband of Linda) of Bowling Green and Brian Stanley (husband of Tyminda) of Plant City, FL, a granddaughter, Lindsey Chaffin of Bowling Green, and three grandsons, Jeffery Stanley of Bowling Green, Bryce Stanley of Plant City, and Gabriel Embry of Bowling Green, as well as three great grandchildren.
