Wanda Lucille (Wilcox) McKay TEMECULA -- Wanda was born June 8, 1932 in Jerico Springs, Mo., to Myrtle and Clarence Wilcox and was welcomed into her Savior's arms on Friday, May 8, 2009, in Temecula, Calif. Wanda came to California in 1946 and lived here until her death. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Hubert (Mac) McKay; her sister, Jo Wilcox; four daughters and one son, Deborah (Dick) Weigand, Susan (Dennis) Mansfield, Larry (Julie) Rampenthal Jr., JoAn (Thomas) Mack, and Catherine Ehlert; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, and a great-grandson. She retired at the age of 62 from years of working as an accountant. She enjoyed genealogy, quilting, sewing and reading. She loved to travel and was a member of the following organizations: Daughter's of the American Revolution, War of 1812, Colonial Dames, Union Army Veterans and Washington's Army. She had successfully traced five ancestors back to Jamestown colony. She was also a licensed pilot, learning to fly at age 55. Wanda had a generous heart and a kind spirit. She always had a positive outlook that encouraged others. Her warm smile and personality defined her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of the organizations she belonged to, listed above. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, May 14th 2009 at 11AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5939 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92506.
