note on his father

Charles Roberts, Sr. son, William was Administrator when he died. His bond was dated 26 Aug 1788.

About 1811 Charles Roberts, Jr and his wife Frances Langston Roberts removed from Granville Co., NC to Logan Co., Kentucky. He paid taxes in 1812 on 200 acres of land which said land dated 4 Jan 1812 was between Charles Roberts,Jr and Ragland Langston.

Charles Roberts, Jr. died 1813 in Logan Co., Ky. His widow Frances Langston Roberts paid taxes in 1814 on the land with her son Ephraim Roberts paying taxes on the same land. The inventory list of Charles Roberts, Jr. estate
was submitted 11 Dec 1813 in Logan County, Ky. Frances bought most of the inventory. The value and original distribution occurred 20 June 1814 in Logan Co.,Ky.

The settlement was long and complicated due to the fact that their son,Langston Roberts, was alive at the time of the land settlement and was a minor and died before the final settlement which required the estate to be
re-figured and distributed to the survivors. In the depositions of the children of Charles and Frances Roberts, Jr. "old Uncle Ragland Langston"was mentioned and he was at the sale in 1812. It took until 1840 in Logan Co., Ky. when Fanny (Frances) Roberts who was deceased at that time for the sale of property and the estate to be settled.
