Theodore R. Brown, Sr., 76, of Conneaut Lake passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Meadville Medical Center. He was born May 17, 1940 in Burgettstown, PA to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Dicie (Thomas) Brown.
Ted served our country for two years in the US Navy in the Seabees and was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He also was a social member of many local clubs. He retired from the Pennsylvania Fish Commission after working for 27 years. He was a lifelong farmer and loved tractors, mowing, and cutting trees. He enjoyed woodworking and was an active supporter of the FFA.
He is survived by his former wife and friend Jean Brown and longtime companion, Kathy Brown; five children, Mary (Jeff) Schmidt of Conneautville, Theodore R. (Vicki) Brown Jr. of Port Matilda, PA, Pam (Troy) Gillette of Conneautville, Tim (Sherri) Brown of Conneautville, and Tom (Paula) Brown of State College,PA; 12 grandchildren, Tammy (Dane) Bowen, Pat (Erin) Schmidt, Ashley Garbinski, Matthew (Nicole) Gillette, Zachary (LauraBeth) Gillette, Vance (Kelley) Brown, Elaine Brown, Bryton Brown, Lauren Gillette, Austin Brown, TJ Brown, and Alex Brown; four great-grandchildren, Trenton, Kaylee, Lilly Bowen and Paisley Schmidt; half brother Gene Funk; and several nieces and nephews. Also left behind are Kathy's children, Chuck (Amy), Sue (Greg), and grandchildren Ryan, Timmy, Connor, Jay and Payton

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Eric, and half brothers John, Paul, Vance, Verdane, and Richard.
Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, August 8, 2016, from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at 7:00 PM, Pastor Loren Little officiating. All services will be at McCauley Funeral Home, 1405 Main St. Conneautville, PA 16406. Interment will be in Beaver Center Cemetery on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at 11:00 AM.
