Terry Lynn Barnette Sr., 71, of Davisville, WV, passed away February 1, 2020 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1948 in Webster Springs, WV, a son of the late Howard R. Barnett and Elma Belle (Davis) Barnett.

Terry served in Vietnam as a US Marine in The Mike Company, 3rd Battalion, First Marine Division. He was a Member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, founding member of Deerwalk Veterans Chapter 1, Military Order of The Purple Heart Chapter 408, Disabled American Vet (DAV) Chapter 32, Life Member of Vietnam Veterans of America, and he retired from Public Debt as a computer operator.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his two dogs, Star and Legend.

Terry is survived by his five daughters, Jennifer Lewis of Cleveland, TN, Jo Ann Mowery (Derrick) of Cleveland, TN, Judy Gates (Michael) of Greensboro, NC, Angeline Barnette of Parkersburg, and Crystal Wilson (Gerald) of Davisville, WV, two sons, Terry Lynn Barnette II (Susan) of Cleveland, TN and Amaziah P. Barnette (Toni) of Davisville, WV, 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two sisters, Cheryl Messer of West Milford, WV and Brenda Barnes (Michael) of Vienna, WV, brother, Timmy Barnett (Tammy) of Parkersburg, WV, and blood brother, David Huffman of Washington County, OH

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo (Eddy) Barnette and brother-in-law, Gene Messer.

Service will be Tuesday 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Reverend Dr Kurt Busiek officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Graveside Rites will be done by The American Legion Post # 15. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
