She met and married, a career military man, Nathan Barnett; together they ventured throughout the United States and Europe experiencing various cultures and changes throughout in their lives.
She was the best Mother who took pleasure in caring for her children and grandchildren. We all enjoyed her delicious meals and loved the attention she extended to each of us.
Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nathan Barnett (1983); their daughter, Rachel Crapo, son-in-law, Jerry McHugh and daughter-in-law, Olga Barnett.
She is survived by her children Linda McHugh, William T. Barnett and wife, Leticia; James Barnett and wife, Patti, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren along with many wonderful friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough.
On Wednesday, August 10th at 12:30 PM, a service will be held in the chapel at Porter Loring followed by interment with her husband, Nathan, in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
