Janet L. Dixon, 61, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Dixon, the daughter of Ella Meda (Ferguson) Alexander and the late Ralph McClanahan, was born Jan. 26, 1955 in Pleasant Ridge, Mo. In 2011, she retired after 25 years from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center as a nurse. Mrs. Dixon enjoyed fishing and gardening but her greatest joy was spending time with and taking care of her family and friends.
On May 10, 1997, she married Roger Dixon at Eagle Point in Wappapello. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include six children, Travis McNail and significant other, Steven Strippoli of Chesapeake, Va., Kenneth (Nikki) McNail of Lesterville, Mo., Roger Dixon, Jr. of Dexter, Mo., Melissa Dixon of Carlyle, Ill., Chad (Kelly) Dixon of Lucerne, Kans. and Jason Dixon of Poplar Bluff; her mother, Ella M. Alexander of Ellington, Mo.; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janie (Everett) Evans of Reynolds County, Mo. and Tracy (Ray) Mowery of Salem, Mo.; three brothers, Gary McClanahan of Ellington, Danny McClanahan of Reynolds County, Mo. and Billy McClanahan of Linn, Mo.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A brother, Jimmy McClanahan preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 9th at the Cotrell Funeral Chapel, 8172 Highway T, Wappapello. Mo. The funeral service will begin at noon Wednesday, August 10th in the Wappapello chapel with Dan Clubb officiating. Burial will take place at Womack Cemetery on Z Highway at Wappapello.
