Randall Wayne “Randy” Murphy was born on Aug. 17, 1965, and passed from this life on Sunday July 17, 2016. He was a native of Denham Springs. Randy will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. His family and friends meant the world to him, and they loved him just as much. He enjoyed singing; one of his many talents. His canine companion “Sadie” was his hunting partner, which he loved, and trained to retrieve ducks. Most of all his true passion was hunting and fishing. He will be truly missed by his loving parents, Randall and Bobbie Devall Murphy; daughters, Shelby and Randi Lynne Murphy; son, Colt Murphy and fiancé Hailey; grandson, Roman Murphy; sister, Nikki Murphy Cummings; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Polly Murphy; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Darren LeBeau, Steve Eccles, Chris Hughes, Gary Norwood Jr., Louis O’Pry and Paul Carlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Dykes and Kevin Dykes. A ceremony celebrating Randy’s life will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Christian Assembly Church, 16415 Magnolia Bridge Road, Greenwell Springs. Visitation was held Wednesday, July 20, at the church. Visitation will resume on Thursday at 9 a.m. until time of the service, officiated by the Rev. Ricky Murphy and the Rev. Keith Bernard. Interment will follow in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Church Funeral Services of Livingston Parish. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to defer funeral cost.
