Mrs. Audrey Killmon Byrd, 94, wife of the late William Roland Byrd, Jr. and a resident of the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore in Onancock, VA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

Born December 11, 1918 in Jenkins Bridge, VA, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo H. Killmon and Vivian Mears Killmon. Mrs. Byrd was a graduate of James Madison College; a Baptist; a former public school teacher; and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Byrd Styer and husband Bill of Onancock; a son, William R. Byrd III and wife Michelle of Salisbury, MD; a sister, Jeanette Killmon Powell of Laurel, DE; four grandchildren, Patricia Jean, Sherry, William R. Byrd IV and Andrew William Styer; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and their families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Milton Killmon.

A memorial service will be held at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Robert Coniglio officiating. Private urn interment will be held at the Pitts Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Pocomoke, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418 or to the Foodbank of the Eastern Shore, P.O. Box 518, Onley, VA 23418.
