Stephen Earl Keith, 62, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Cairo, died Friday, August 5, 2016.

He was born November 8, 1953 in Tacoma, Washington the son of Cecil and Shirley (Shepard) Keith. He married Dawn Walston on February 14, 1997.

Stephen was a very hard worker and was employed by Illinois American Water in Cairo for over 30 years as plant operations Superintendent where he retired in August 2015. He enjoyed riding his Harley and loved the beach. He was an avid golfer for over 40 years and a member of Egyptian Country club and a member of Operating Engineers.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Dawn Walston-Keith of Cape Girardeau; son, Matthew Keith of Cape Girardeau; sister, Vivian Windings of Cairo, IL; brother, Cecil Keith, Jr. of Kevil, KY; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Crain Funeral Home in Cairo. Elks service will be held at 7:00pm.

Graveside service for Stephen Keith will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Barnes Jewish Hospital Foundation for Transplant.
