The Twin City's oldest insurance salesman, George K. Hagedorn, 90, died Tuesday at his residence, 42 Eby street south. Mr. Hagedorn took ill on Saturday.
Sixteen years ago he came Kitchener and became associated with the Western Weather Insurance Company. Prior to this he farmed in Mannheim district where he was choir leader of the Lutheran church. He was also a member of Mannheim church council for many years.
Deceased was born at Williamsburg on April 22, 1850, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Hagedorn. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. His wife, Henrietta Vogt, predeceased him six years ago.
Surviving are six sons, Henry, Edward, Alfred and Harold, all of Kitchener, Albert of Williamsburg and Walter of Wilmot Centre, four daughters, Mrs. Henry Strack of Chicopee, Mrs. Chris. Piehl, Bright, Mrs. Edwin Becker of New Dundee. and Mrs. Wellington Becker of Petersburg; one brother, Herman Hagedorn of Galt, one sister, Mrs. Phillipina Wieland of Bad Axe, Mich., 31 grandchildren and one -great-grandchild. A daughter, Mrs. Addison Reist, predeceased him.
