Ralph Sutton of Galt passed away on March 14, 2012 following a brief illness. He was born July 15, 1925 in Pontiac, Michigan, to parents Theodore Roosevelt Sutton and Melinda (Martin) Sutton. He is survived by his wife Janet (Gall) Sutton of 50 years, son, Tracey Benjamin Sutton, stepsons, Thomas Daley and Timothy Daley, daughters Mary Carol Brown and Sharon Danna Dillig, and 12 grandchildren. Ralph moved to Los Gatos when he was eleven where he learned to ranch and ride. He loved horses throughout his life and enjoyed painting them on occasion. When World War II set in, he wanted to join the military and was unable to due to a riding accident. He fulfilled this dream by becoming a Seabee and supporting the U.S. Navy in Bremerton Washington and the Aleutian Islands where he gave his service through building and logistical support for the Navy. Following the war, he worked on the oil rigs of Mississippi and Louisiana. He then began his professional career selling insurance and selling artwork for Disney Corporation. Eventually he became a real estate agent, selling commercial and residential properties for 48 years. He was a spirited businessman with a great sense of humor. He was the charter president for the North Stockton Optimist Club and the North Stockton Toastmasters. Ralph loved being a grandfather and was Godfather to three. He was present at his grandchildren's births and was active in their lives. He loved his family and adored his wife. In his 80th year he was baptized before them and was with Jesus when he passed.
Friends and family are invited to visit on Tuesday, March 20, from 10 am to 8pm at Lodi Funeral Home. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday at 7 pm at Lodi Funeral Home. Services are private. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
