They were later divorced but remained very close friends throughout their lives. He worked for Geneva Steel for 35 years and then worked at KOA in Provo, Utah, for 27 years. Ray Gates of Provo, Utah, passed away July 31, 2016, in Provo.
Survived By: Two sons" Ray (Debbie) Gates and Wayne Gates; daughter, Sherrie (Shannon) Robb; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Betty Gaisford and Luella Allen Gallegos.
