Christine Singer Agee, 100, widow of Aulbert Agee, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Hospice facility at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

She was born March 28, 1916 in Madison County to the late William and Ollie Frances Isaacs Singer, both of whom preceded her in death. As a teenager, she began working at the fomer Gibson Hospital and later became a nurse. Christine was a member of the National Historical Society and enjoyed doing genealogy work as a sideline and hobby. She was most proud of being an at-large member of the Daughters of American Revolution, and a member of Highlands Baptist Church of Lexington.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Wilma Spencer and Rondal Agee, and one brother James Singer.

Survivors include daughter-in-law, Lois Agee of Lexington; one sister, Irene Johnson of Richmond; two brothers, W. F. “Bill” Singer of Wilmore and Glen Singer (Carolyn) of Tazewell, TN; three grandchildren, Judy Wiley, Amy Hiereman and Marie Yaste, as well as two great grandchildren, Brian and Lucas Yaste.

Service for Mrs. Agee will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. J. K. Pierce and Rev. Paul Bodenhamer officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
