LORAIN – John Thomas Whitfield, 53, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday August 2, 2016. He was born June 24, 1963 in Lorain where he was a lifelong resident. He enjoyed family, arts and crafts, and cooking. He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Shadaria Whitfield, Shamar Whitfield, Shatara Whitfield, and Shakara Whitfield; his father, Harris Daniels Jr.; his mother, Dovie V Whitfield; 10 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Richard (Lillie) Whitfield and Harris Daniels III; three sisters, Rebecca (Avery) Whitfield, Mary Whitfield-Gibson, and Stacey Daniels; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his sister, Naomi Riggins; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Dovie Broughsvillie; paternal grandparents, Harris Daniels Sr. and Lela Daniels.

Visitation will be held Monday August 8, 2016 from 10AM until time of services at 12PM at Friendship Baptist Church, 2160 Reeves Ave in Lorain, with Rev. Ernest G. Battle, Pastor of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain. Arrangements entrusted to Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain OH 44052.
