Published in Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram from Jan. 7 to Jan. 8, 2016. LEWISTON - Roger Arthur Dunn, a fourth generation Yarmouth resident, passed away quietly on Jan. 4, 2016. The son of Arthur and Margaret Dunn of West Elm Street in Yarmouth, he was born on Sept. 20, 1933. He was a graduate of North Yarmouth Academy. For many years he was the owner of the Dunn Fuel Oil Company which served the Cumberland County area. He was a charter member of the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce; he served as Deputy Chief for the Yarmouth Fire Department, and was a volunteer for the Department for 25 years. He was also a member of the Yarmouth School Board. After retiring from the fuel oil business, Roger's love of the sea inspired him to purchase a lobster boat, "The Highliner," and he went into the commercial lobstering business. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loved hosting lobster bakes during summers at Princess Point. When he wasn't at the ocean, he spent time at the family camp on Birch Island, Little Sebago Lake. He was an avid sailor, skier, golfer and hunter, and enjoyed playing on a bowling league. He also enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. He and his wife Pat are members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Portland. He was predeceased by his first wife, June Elizabeth Young of Falmouth. He spent his life looking out over Casco Bay. His memory will live in our hearts and we'll always think of Roger when we look at the sea. Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation to be held on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 580 Forest Ave., in Portland.
