Dr. Joseph Hearst Bonner was born in Abbeville County, S.C. on the 15th day of February 1820, and died in Camden, Ala. June 20, 1884. He was in his 65th year...was educated in literature and the sciences at Oxford, Ohio, and was graduated in medicine at Charleston, S.C. He was married in 1845 to Miss Sarah J. Young of Wilcox County, Ala. Of this union, eight children were born of which only one survives. He was left a widower in 1865 and never married again.
