He was married to Vivian Shaffer April 18, 1918 in Eldon. Mr. Trout was employed by the Rock Island Railroad over 50 years. He worked at Eldon before moving to Cedar Rapids and was a member of the Switchmen's union. Survivors include his wife Viva, a son Donald of Cedar Rapids; several nieces and nephews, including Walter Jones who was reared in the Trout home.
