Stanton was born July 27, 1935, in Durham, N.C., to parents Pearl (Davis) and Marvin Fowler, and died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at the St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church, and a longtime Madisonville CISD school board member. Stanton also served MCISD as a school nurse, and established the dialysis unit in Madisonville. She always gave her life and time for others, loved needlework, and traveled extensively.
