Born November 19, 1931 in Treasureton, Idaho to Henry Clipson Atkinson and Charlotte Henrietta Dawson Atkinson.
Fontelle chose as her companion in life and eternity, Richard Christensen. Married on February 16, 1951 in Salt Lake City, later solemnized in Salt Lake Temple.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions over the years.
She was employed as a nurse by W.G.O.C., Ralph Bradly, MD., and Granite School District working with special needs students.
Her love of the out-of-doors provided her family with many rich experiences, riding horses, camping, hunting, and boating in Lake Powell. After retiring from Granite School District, she and her husband traveled to Yuma, Arizona in the winter and Island Park, Idaho in the summer. They built a home in Hurricane, where she enjoyed volunteering at the senior center.
She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Tim) Joos and Kelly (Scott) Fowler; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and sister, Dona Coburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, and daughter, Lauri.
We also wish to send a HUGE Thank You to the hospice in St. George and West Jordan. You made our journey so much easier.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1450 East), where a visitation will take place one hour prior to the services.
