He was the son of Thomas B. Allin and Katharine Detwiler Allin.
On Wednesday, November 26, 1913, he married Jessie Pontius at the home of her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Frances Pontius at Omaha, Nebraska.
They were the parents of two children.
