Elizabeth Kemp Summers,78, of Woodstock, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. She was born April 19, 1938 in Olney, MD and was the daughter of the late Jonathan and Naomi (Brown) Kemp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death thirteen years ago, by her beloved husband, Bernard C. Summers, whom she adored and whose hand she took to lead her to her heavenly father.
Elizabeth was a member of Tri-County Baptist Church in Gaithersburg, MD and attended Pleasant View Church of the Brethren in Mt. Jackson. She loved to read. She worked 35 years as a bookkeeper for Burdette Brothers, Inc. in Hyattstown, MD.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Kim Warfield (David) of Edinburg; her son, Mike Summers (Linda) of Westminster, MD and four grandchildren, Ashley Summers, Zachary Warfield, Ethan Warfield and Isaac Warfield.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren with Pastor Jack Tucker officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Laytonsville Cemetery in Laytonsville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601
