Sandra L. Bland, 54, died Monday, August 1, 2016, at her home in Clive.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, at Lutheran Church of Hope Chapel in West Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to the 4-H Foundation or Lutheran Church of Hope in her memory.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, at Lutheran Church of Hope Chapel in West Des Moines. McLarens Resthaven Chapel Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

Sandra Louise Leazer was born May 27, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois. At two months of age, she was adopted into the loving family of Harold and Eleanor (Langbehn) Leazer of Wilton. She graduated from Wilton High School in 1980. She married Gary Lee Bland on September 25, 1981. The couple moved to Clive. She was employed in the career of event planning and most recently worked as the Global Trade Show Manager at INTL FCStone.

Surviving are her husband, Gary; one daughter, Kendra (Kyle) Guldenpfennig of Urbandale; one son, Joshua Bland of West Des Moines; one step-daughter, Nicole Thornington; her adopted father, Harold Leazer of Wilton; one sister, Sue (William) Hobby of Hughson, CA; and one brother, Steven (Gloria) Leazer of Wilton.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Collette Lexin and her adopted mother, Eleanor Leazer.
