Ellen M. Sullivan of Rockaway Beach, New York formerly of Assonet died Monday July 18, 2016 at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in New York.
Born in York Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Lois M. (Fullerton) Sullivan. A graduate of Apponequet High School in 1960, Ellen attended and graduated from Truesdale Hospital School of Nursing in Fall River in 1963. A resident of New York City for the last 52 years, she worked as a nurse anesthetist in the area before she retired.
Ellen was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed keeping up with politics.
Survivors include her sisters, Lois M. Sullivan, Emma G. Sullivan, Cecilia Gauthier and her husband Michael, Cynthia Thomson and her husband John and Bridget Morris; her brothers, Charles B. Sullivan and his wife Karen and Rev. John M. Sullivan of Wareham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 4, 2016 at St. Bernard Church, 30 South Main Street, Assonet at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Assonet Burying Ground. Visiting hours have been omitted.
