Mrs. Opal Bailey Pierce was born January 25th, 1937 and departed her loving life on Earth on August 2, 2016 at the age of 79. She was born to Lucy Whipple Bailey and Claude Bailey at Plad, Missouri.
She married Frank Pierce on February 12, 1955 and this union had 3 children. She attended Windyville Schools, graduating from there as Valedictorian in 1954. She always said she should have been Salutatorian as there was one boy smarter than her but he didn't try hard enough. She played ladies basketball for Windyville back when they played only half-court. She was a shooter. After marrying Frank they moved to Kansas City for awhile. They decided the city was too busy for them and home was where they should be. Living first at Baileytown, which is East of Plad, then Long Lane, back to Baileytown and then to Pomme de Terre Lake for retirement, where she was more of an eagle watcher than a fisherwoman. Opal made the perfect wife, homemaker, Mother, Grandmother and Aunt. She was a member of Bailey Chapel Church attending since she was an infant. She loved teaching Sunday School and Bible School to the small children, teaching them to Love One Another and Do Unto Others, the way she lived her life.

Opal was predeceased by her parents, sisters Dorothy Rice and Thelma Bishop. great grandson Baby Lucus Nicks and loving daughter Becky Nicks.

Survivors include her husband Frank of the home, daughter Regina Johnson and husband Wayne of Buffalo and their son Anthony and wife Alexis of Springfield, son Danny Pierce of Tunas and his son Dalton and wife Brie of Lebanon, and Daughter Tori Jo, son-in-law Danny Nicks of Shawnee, Kansas and his sons Matt and wife Ashley and their children Lilly, Karlie and Brett also of Shawnee, Ryan and wife Stephanie and their children Jason, Emerson, Jack and Evie of Ballground, Georgia; and many loving nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 5th at 10 A.M. in the Montgomery-Viets Chapel with burial following in Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Long Lane. Casketbearers will be Matthew Nicks, Ryan Nicks, Anthony Johnson, Dalton Pierce, Tori Jo Pierce, Dan Nicks, Wayne Johnson and David Rotramel. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. Services are under the direction of the Montgomery-Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo,
