Gladys Mae Dale Blankenship of Brockwell, Arkansas

Gladys Mae Dale Blankenship, daughter of the late George Washington Dale and Lela Stevens Dale, was born January 29, 1930 in Wiseman, Arkansas. She departed this life August 3, 2016 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 5 days. She was united in marriage to Billy Blankenship December 20, 1947 and to this union three children were born. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she worked as a waitress, an elementary school cook, and at Wal Mart in Belton, Missouri. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Oxford Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Johnny Lee and Cheryl Blankenship of Tunis, Missouri; two daughters and two sons-in-law: Catherine Ann and Kenneth Fleming of Warsaw, Missouri and Sereta Elaine and Roger Winkle of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one brother: Earl Dean Dale and wife Diane of Washington state; 11 grandchildren: Paula Sechrest, Teresa Ingram, Kim Mealor, Vince Martinez, Ashlee Blankenship, Melissa Taylor, Michelle Chapman, Marcella Spahr B. J. Snyder, Stephanie Chandler and John Winkle; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Emmit Dale and J. D. Dale; one sister: Georgia Ann Dale and her husband of 57 years: Billy Blankenship.

Funeral service will be Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Logan Holliday officiating. Burial will be at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Friday, August 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Memorials may be made to : Oxford Baptist Church, P.O. Box 164, Oxford, AR 72565. Hospice House of the Ozarks, 774 Long Street, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
