CHARLES W. ARVER

Sturgis: Charles W. ARVER, 69, 1100 E. Hatch St., died June 6, 1994, at the Sturgis Hospital.

He was born Nov. 7, 1924, in Sturgis, a son of Ethan and Laura (ANDERSON) ARVER.

On June 14, 1947, he married Doris MARRIOTT, in Angola, Ind.

He was a lifelong Sturgis resident. He was employed in dealer service 18 years for Kirsch Company, Sturgis, retiring in 1984. Before that, he had worked several years in the engineering department of Wade Electric Products, Company, Sturgis. He was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks 1381, and a past member of the Neuman-Wenzel Post 73 American Legion. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during World War II. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and traveling.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Nancy) PRESLEY, Hamilton, Ind.; two sons, Charles ARVER and Thomas ARVER, both of Sturgis; seven grandchildren, Chris, Craig, Jill and Kevin ARVER, Kelly, Amy and Reece PRESLEY; and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Alvin ARVER.

Relatives and friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home, Sturgis, where services are at 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Lowell F. WALSWORTH, Sturgis First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Private burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis.

Memorials may be directed to Sturgis Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
