Janet Alicia Morrow Gibbs was born on January 25, 1951 to Neal and Louise Morrow in Alexandria, VA, and left this world to be with our Lord on August 1, 2016. Janet lived the first 11 years of her life in Arlington, VA. She loved living in Virginia. Some of her favorite memories were spending time in Washington D.C., visiting the Luray Caverns, and driving the Skyline Drive through the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Her parents divorced in 1962. She and her mother, sister and brother moved to Colorado.
Janet married in 1967 in Los Angeles, CA, and in 1968, their son was born. The family moved to Greeley, CO in 1970, then to Wiggins, CO in 1973, and finally to Kit Carson, CO in 1978. Janet was very community minded. She served on the Kit Carson Town Council, Kit Carson Chamber of Commerce, Kit Carson School Booster Club, and the Kit Carson United Methodist Church board for many years. She enjoyed being responsible for the church’s bulletin boards, teaching Sunday school, and assisting with several Christmas programs. Janet was also a former chairperson for the Kit Carson School Accountability Committee. In 2002, Janet retired from the Kit Carson State Bank and moved to Longmont, where she lived until 2012.
