Wayne Campbell Blanchett, 79, resident of 510 Marshall Ave. husband of Leila Bowie Blanchett passed away Wednesday Aug. 3 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC.

Wayne was twice married, first to the late Dot Brown Blanchett.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of the late James Jackson Blanchett and Lillian Campbell Blanchett.

Wayne was a retired Master Chief Petty Officer with the US Navy with over 26 years of service. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church. He will be missed by his many friends and loving family.

Survivors include his wife, Leila Bowie Blanchett of the home; two daughters, Debra Slack and Jennifer Jackson both of Pensacola, Florida; three sisters, Linda Ouzts of Marion, AL, Martha Henderson of Rome, Georgia and Nancy Bowie of Abbeville, SC; one brother, Jim Blanchett of Marion, AL ; Katelyn Bowie raised in the home; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce LaWayne Blanchett.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday Aug. 6, 2016 at 11:00 in the chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Revs. Jerry Cato and Willie McCurry officiating.
