Ruby Alene Fletcher, 73, of Monett went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Tuesday August 2, 2016 while at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
She was born on March 6, 1943 in Cassville, Missouri; the daughter of the late Myrtle (McCracken) Fletcher. She was adopted at age 7 and raised by Marvin and Iola Fletcher.
She was united in marriage on August 2, 1958 to Leonard Griffis of Cassville, they were divorced in 1973, Ruby was then married on November 24, 1974 to Junior Asberry, and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2004.
She was a homemaker and housekeeper and attended Chapel of Grace Church in Monett.
Ruby is survived by one son, Calvin Griffis and his wife Mary of Cassville; Pamela Asberry and boyfriend Bob Martin of Springfield; and Karen Hough of Springfield; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Myrtle, adopted parents: Marvin and Iola Fletcher, four brothers and four sisters.
Visitation for Ruby is being held on Thursday August 4, 2016 from 6p-8p at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. Funeral services are being held on Friday August 5, 2016 at 2p at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett, Missouri with Rev. Doyle Russell officiating.
