Rose Marie Green, age 88, formerly of Owatonna, died at Regina Medical Center - Senior Living, on August 3, 2016, in Hastings, MN.
Rose Marie was born on March 13, 1928 in Owatonna to Charles and Minnie (Pechacek) Pribyl. She was a lifelong resident of Owatonna. She graduated from OHS in 1946.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Owatonna. Friends may greet the family two hours prior to the funeral service. There will be a parish rosary recited at 9:00 AM at the church to start the visitation.
Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mrs. Green worked at Federated Insurance Company from 1946 to 1957. She was later employed at Marian High and St. Mary's School as a secretary for 22 years until her retirement in 1990.
On September 22, 1956 she married Robert W. Green of Rochester, MN at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna.
She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of St. Therese Sewing guild and held office on the Sacred Heart Ladies Board. She was also a rosary leader, and was on the "Eucharist Hour" devotion. She was a member of the Women's Catholic Foresters for over 55 years. Her volunteerism included working for Owatonna Hospice and The Healthy Senior Program.
She and her husband raised three children, James, William and Shirley. They also sponsored three children of the Philippines, Janet, Luisa, and Krezel thru the Children International Program.
Mrs. Green enjoyed music, reading, gardening, craft painting and family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Charles and Minnie Pribyl; a sister, Dorothy Kubicek, and her twin brother, Dick Pribyl.
She is survived by her children, James Green, of Hastings, William "Bill" (Cheryl) Green of Owatonna, Shirley (Rob) Shirley of Smithville, MO; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Chesney and brother, Bud Pribyl.
Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Church, St. Mary's School, or donors' choice.
