It is believed that John M. Mullins was the son of John Mullins and wife Mary. He was one of seven known children born to the family.

John married Nancy Ann Hubbard January 1785 Pittsylvania County, Virginia; by Rev. Nathaniel Thurman.

John and Nancy had at least four children, possibly more. Their known children are:

Burton Mullins b 1800
Mary "Polly" b 1804 DNA
Jesse b 1811 DNA

1780 tax lists of Pittsylvania Co. VA there was a John Hubbard living close to a John Mullins. This John Hubbard refused to sign the oath of allegience to the new country.

John is believe to be the son of John Mullins who wrote his will, the ninth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty four, in Franklin County, North Carolina.

"where he bequeathed to my oldest sons, Julius Mullins and John Mullins all my Black Smiths Tools, of all kinds & sorts but to be for the rest of the plantation till my son Julius is twenty one years old then they may have them on full possession."

John's siblings where: Julius, Nancy, Bud, Kinchen, Malone, & Green.

By 1820 the family was living in Hall County, Georgia and remained there until after John's death in 1830.

After John's death Nancy moved to Cherokee County, Georgia with son John.
