Dennis Grubbs, 66, died June 27, 2016. He was born in Monticello, Drew County, Arkansas on May 27, 1950 to his parents Henry Royce Grubbs and Marguerite DeLane King Dickerson. Dennis attended Crossett High School.

Dennis was a veteran of the U.S. Navy 1968, having served in the Vietnam War. He retired from AT&T after 40 years of service.

Dennis loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and family. His hobbies were fishing, reading, refinishing furniture, and garage sale shopping. He enjoyed his little sidekick, Toto.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Royce Grubbs and Marguerite DeLane King Dickerson, and one sister, Melinda Thurman.

Survivors include his wife, Sophie; six children, Michael, Shara, Thomas, Theresa, Sheila, and Jeff; 16 grandchildren; four brothers, Garry Grubbs of Hot Springs, Eddie McGehee of Hammond, La., Darrell Thurman of Gloster, Miss, and Bobby McGehee of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; and four sisters, Dianne Naff of Monroe, La., Terry McGehee of Valdosta, Ga., Mitzi Williams of Crossett, Arkansas and Melinda Thurman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of one’s choice.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on July 7 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Burial was at Houston National Cemetery.
