Ruth Ann Fischer, 79, of Fulton, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics.
She was born in Fulton on February 9, 1937, the daughter of the late William W. Hawkins and the late Mamie "Bea" (Lawrence) Hawkins.
Ruth was united in marriage to Lester W. Fischer on August 27, 1959. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1997.
Ruth and Lester owned and operated Fischer TV from 1979 until 1997. She continued to work there with her nephew, Jeff Sheley, until 2007. She enjoyed bowling, quilting and flower gardening. She was especially fond of Irises and Daylilies. Ruth was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Those remaining to mourn her passing include son, Mike Hawkins (Thelma) of Fulton; sisters, Janet Hafey and Tamara Sheley of Fulton; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Jenny.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016, at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating.
