Thelma Raye Smith, age 85 of Center Point, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Kerrville. She was born in Hondo to Joe Morgan and Hazel Raye Billings on June 13, 1931. On October 10, 1985, she married Charles Milton Smith in Bandera.
Thelma went to school in San Antonio and graduated from St. Phillip's College. She was head bookkeeper for Dr. Ronald Morin for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by husband, Charles Milton Smith; parents, Joe and Hazel Billings; sisters, Norma Trimble and Dorothy Andersen; and brother, Joe Billings Jr.
Survivors include children, Larry Joe Bybee of Center Point, Brenda Bybee Hutcheson and husband, Hector Hinojosa of San Antonio and Wendell Brae McMahan and partner, Fred Gonzales of San Antonio; step-son, Danny Smith and wife, Kathy of Center Point; "her other daughters," Vikki Ann Wells of San Antonio and Barb Dzik of Canyon, TX; sister, Bobbie Kotzur of Bandera; grandchildren, Chad Randall Hutcheson and wife, Kimberly Page of LaVernia, Brandee Bybee of San Antonio, Jena Raye Bybee of Hearne, Shayla Rose Bybee of San Antonio; step grandchildren, Tammy and Rene Aguirre, Keri Smith, Sommer Lackey, Lisa Lackey, Lance Lackey and Leah Kullenburg; numerous great grandchildren including her "special angel Ryan Blake" and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5-7 PM, Friday, August 5, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.
Services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville with interment following in the Center Point Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Randall Hutcheson, Ryan Blake Hutcheson, Larry Joe Bybee, Wendell Brae McMahan, Fred Gonzales and Danny Smith.
