Mr. Jerry Clyde Davis, age 70, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility.
The Bryan County native was a 1963 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. Following his graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served for three years. Upon completion of his service to his country, Jerry moved to Savannah where he began a 30 year career in the road construction industry. Jerry retired from APACE Company as a heavy equipment operator.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved country cooking and food.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Reid Davis and Erma Lee Akins Davis; his wife, Kay Elizabeth Womack Davis and two brothers, Douglas Davis and Edward Davis.
Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Delores and Hank Joyner of Brooklet; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Billy Joe and Mary Ellen Davis of Murrells Inlet, SC and Linda Davis of Nevils; his aunt, Vivian Saxon of Blitchton and his dear fiends, James and Linda Hendley of Pembroke. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive visitors on Friday from 10:00am until 11:00am in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow with Elder Buck Grantham officiating.
A private burial will be held at Red Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
The family requests that memorial contributions by made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
