Phillip Michael Carter, 62, of Glenwood, GA, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
Mike was born November 5, 1953 in Camilla, GA and was a lifelong resident of Laurens County. He worked as a crane operator for Dublin Construction before his health declined. Mike never met a stranger and loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandkids. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting, and fishing with his dogs, Buck and Abby. His favorite time of the year was volunteering with Laurens County Handicapped Sportsman's Association and Middle GA Buckmaster's Annual Disable Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Annette Carter and nephew, Rusty Carter.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the Chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Nolon McDaniel will officiate.
