Clifford F. Turner, 83, of LaFarge, WI, died on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his home in Rockton. Cliff was born on October 1, 1932, on Morningstar Ridge, the son of Fred and Norma (Green) Turner. Growing up he attended the one room Rockton School. In 1954 Cliff began his service to his country in the United States Army, as a tank mechanic during the Korean War. On June 16, 1956 Cliff married the love of his life, Marie Wood, at the Lafarge United Methodist Church. Cliff not only ran and built a family farm, he also logged with his father. He maintained the farm until the LaFarge Dam project “condemned” his land. Cliff then went on to work at the Hillsboro Farmers Co-op where he retired in 1993. Cliff’s passion was the outdoors, from farming to hunting, whether it was watching the birds in the backyard, or the tradition of deer hunting that he maintained for 70 years. He was known by his prized bull named Charlie, his cow-dog Blackie, and his devoted companion, his German Shepherd Marilyn. Cliff cherished the time spent with his grandkids, visiting with neighbors, and friends. Cliff always enjoyed a good laugh with a witty comeback. He was often heard saying to his grandkids “for that I’ll be your grandpa,” they truly were the light of his life.

Clifford is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie; his sons: Brian (Cathy) Turner of Hartville, MO, Darin Turner of Richland Center, WI, Eric (Emily) Turner of Rockton, WI; grandchildren: Crystal, Jessica, Brian Michael, Melissa, Jacob, Cassidy, Daniel, Amber, Sydney, Thayron, Landon, Sierra, Ruthie, Mason; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Marissa, Emily, Leighton; sister: Bonnie Lind of Janesville, WI; many other nieces, nephew, cousins, friends, and co-workers.

Clifford is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother: Ida Turner; brothers: Elmer Turner, Orval Turner, Dale Turner; sisters: Ruth Lind, Dorothy Turner; brother-in-law’s: Valtimore Lind, Edward Lind; sister-in-law: Mary Turner; nephew; Roger Lind; and niece: Janice Lind.
