Lyons - Mrs. Janet Olds Ray, age 74, of Lyons, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at her home, after an extended illness. She was a native of Elberton, and has lived in Lyons since 1979. She was a secretary for Vidalia City Schools, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lee Olds and Margie Lee Dickerson Olds; and grandson, Kaleb Ray; and a granddaughter, Abby Lauren Bowen.

Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Donald Ray, two sons, Kenneth Wayne Ray and wife Leslie, and Kevin Randall Ray and wife Kayla, all of Lyons; two daughters, Karen Michelle Bowen and husband Tony of Marietta, South Carolina, and Katherine “Katie” Rebecca Collins and husband Charles of Eastman; one brother, James T. Olds and wife Carol of Carlton; two sisters, Carolyn Davis and husband Bobby of Crawford, and Mary Ann Jocoy of Elberton; thirteen grandchildren, Kendra Beasley, Katheryn Bearden, Kelley Harvey, Kaleigh, Khloe, Karaline, and Kami Ray; Anna, Ashley, and Amy Bowen; and Sean, Alyssa, and Blake Collins; four great-grandchildren, Jake, Kayleb, and Halli Beasley and June Harvey.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Plowman, Reverend Don Gibbs, and Reverend Jim Olds officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 410, Lyons GA 30436.
